Prof. Vladimir Rusimov

Vladimir Rusimov, MD, is an orthopedic specialist in Sofia with over 20 years of medical experience. His professional interests include shoulder surgery, focusing on fractures, endoprosthetics, arthroscopic reconstructions, and muscle-tendon transpositions, as well as arthroscopic reconstructive surgery of the hip, knee, and ankle joints. He has authored over 100 publications, presentations, and contributions to national and international congresses, conferences, and courses.

Education

  • Graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 1995.
  • Acquired a specialty in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2002.
  • Earned a Doctorate in 2012 after successfully defending his dissertation on “Arthroscopic Stabilization for Anterior Traumatic Shoulder Instability.”

Qualifications

  • Completed specializations in France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium, and other countries, receiving certifications in relevant fields.
  • Certified in highly specialized activities in “Arthroscopy” (2002).
  • Member of the Bulgarian Orthopedic and Traumatology Association (BOTA), the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EFORT), the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA), and the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT).
